Luke Sheldrick is a prominent figure in sustainable agriculture, recognized for his expertise and dynamic presence. His journey began in 2013 on his family farm in White Lake, and by 2015, he and his wife Dana had founded Terramor Farm. What started as a small CSA program has grown to serve top restaurants, retail locations, and farmers markets in Ottawa.

Under Luke’s leadership, Terramor Farm spans 2.5 acres of vegetables and 0.5 acres of flowers, with a team of eight seasonal staff. His skills in cost-effective farm management, restaurant sales, and marketing have driven the farm’s success. Known for his strong leadership and commitment to sustainability, Luke ensures the farm benefits both the environment and the community.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a complete crop plan tailored to your farm’s needs. You’ll learn how to set sales goals, calculate planting volumes, map your farm, use the Heirloom software, and turn your crop plan into practical, real-world strategies. Additionally, you’ll develop skills to refine and adapt your planning process for future seasons.

All lessons will be recorded and available for you to watch at your convenience. However, we strongly encourage attending live sessions to engage in the Q&A and get the most out of the course.

Office hours take place every Friday, via a zoom call, providing a space for you to ask questions and get feedback on your homework. It’s an opportunity to clarify concepts and address any challenges you may have with your crop plan.

While we can’t cover in-depth, personalized scenarios during the lessons, office hours are designed to answer individual questions. 

Heirloom is a comprehensive software designed to help farmers with crop planning, scheduling, and data management. During the course, you’ll learn how to navigate the app, set up your farm, and use its features to create an efficient crop plan.

It’s recommended that you have access to two screens, especially during the Heirloom software training, so you can follow along more easily. Beyond that, a computer with internet access and basic spreadsheet skills will be sufficient.

By the end of the course, you will have a complete, actionable crop plan for the upcoming season. You’ll also have a solid understanding of crop planning principles that will help you continuously improve your processes. Additionally, we encourage you to share your completed plan as part of a final activity, with a prize awarded for the best submission!

After the course concludes, you will still have access to all lesson replays and the community for a period of 1 year. This allows you to revisit the content and connect with other participants as you continue to refine your crop planning skills. However, please note that Luke will not be available to answer questions during this period.
