Meet your teacher
Chloé Roy
Chloé Roy founded Floramama Farm in 2014, and for three years she worked there alone and wore all the hats of this small start-up business. She acquired her knowledge of growing cut flowers from Erin Benzakein of Floret Flowers, pioneer of the small flower farm movement on the US West Coast, and floral arranging from Sarah Ryhanen of New York-based Saipua.
Chloé is at the heart of every operation at the farm, overseeing planning, production, greenhouse construction, irrigation, communication and the creative side of the soft, romantic and lush floral design for which she is renowned.

Floramama
Floramama is a small flower farm located in Frelighsburg, Québec, Canada. In operation since 2014, the team created and operated by women grows flowers ecologically on 1.34 acres (0.4 hectares), using the bio-intensive method. The team works to grow and deliver over 70 varieties of flowers and has positioned itself as a pioneer in Quebec for the profitable cultivation of ecological flowers on small acreage.
Since 2021, Floramama has established itself as a leader in Quebec’s small-scale ecological flower-growing movement.
The farm is also part of the Floret Farmer-Florist Collective!

Where do the courses take place?
Everything is online — no travel is required. You can go through the training at your own pace. Of course, the real test is in how you apply this education to your own farm or market garden.
Which devices can I use to access the program?
After registering for the program, you will be prompted to create a user profile for accessing the training platform. You will then be able to take the course on any device connected to the Internet. Please note that you can only access our courses from one device at a time, whether it’s your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
How much time do I need to commit?
Our program is completely self-directed, which means you can go at your own pace. Some people go through all the material immediately, while others come back and review specific videos throughout the season based on what’s happening on their farm. We estimate that it takes around 20 hours to go through all the content and complete all the exercises proposed in the course.
How do exclusive deals on tools and equipment work?

What kind of payments do you accept?

Notre cours est conçu comme une médiathèque exhaustive et évolutive traitant un large éventail d’aspects pour une culture maraîchère réussie. Nous croyons que l’inscription à notre cours et l’étude de son contenu peuvent vous donner un bon point de départ dans l’organisation et la planification de votre microferme. Si vous comptez appliquer les méthodes que nous vous enseignerons dans un avenir proche, vous devriez définitivement vous inscrire. L’inscription à la Masterclass du jardinier-maraîcher vous donne un accès à vie au matériel de cours. Ainsi, lorsque vous aurez enfin accès à une terre, le matériel de cours pourra vous servir de guide et de compagnon. Si votre rêve de ferme est un peu plus lointain, et que vous êtes simplement curieux de savoir ce qu’il faut faire pour démarrer un projet d’agriculture régénératrice à petite échelle, nous vous suggérons de suivre d’abord le cours Introduction à la microferme maraîchère.
Est-ce que la méthode fonctionnera dans mon climat?
Chaque contexte est différent et dépend notamment du climat, du terrain, du sol, du marché, et de bien plus encore. Nos méthodes sont conçues pour la production de légumes dans des climats tempérés. Nous avons aussi des étudiant·es qui appliquent nos méthodes en Islande, en Polynésie française et dans un tas d’autres pays. Être un grand agriculteur ou une grande agricultrice, connaître ses cultures à fond et optimiser sa production pour être plus efficace est utile partout sur la planète.
